With many successful international collaborations to her credit, both in opera and symphonic music, Zoi Tsokanou is the first woman to be at the helm of a major music organization in Greece. Since 2017 she has been the artistic director of Thessaloniki State Orchestra.

 

Next season she will perform at the Royal Opera House in London, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Bill-Soloturn Switzerland, etc. Notable recent performances include the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Grand Theatre of Geneva, the Symphony Orchestras of Düsseldorf, Lille, Madrid, Sofia, the National Radio Symphony Orchestra (ERT).

She has been the permanent conductor of the Erfurt Opera, permanent Guest conductor of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, and the Music Director of the Arosa Musical Theater Organization at the homonymous Swiss festival. She has directed a variety of operas such as Rigoletto, Il Trovatore, Macbeth, Otello, Simon Boccanegra, Tosca, Lucia di Lammermoor, Cavalleria Rusticana, Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Faust and many more.

 

She has performed at the Lucerne Festival, the Schumann Festival in Düsseldorf, the Athens Festival and more, and has collaborated with soloists such as Gil Shaham, Marlis Petersen, Daniel Müller Schott, Julianna Avdeeva, Daniel Lozakovich, Alena Baeva.
